Action Research Template

  1. Rachel, I think your action research sounds great and you are in the perfect position to see it through. I was going wondering if there is any certain percentage you want to increase the TAKS scores to for your goal.

I was also wondering if you wanted to include a step in your action reserach concerning how you are going to monitor the progrss of the RTI students. I knwo you are going to be having RTI meetings to discuss the students, but I didn't know if you were going to chart out the status or just keep notes in a journal or binder.

    Everything looks great! Natalie

  2. Rachel,
Your action research proposal is something that we need to implement immediately at our school. I would suggest that we can use data from the final summer school math assessement to identify our at-risk students' most critical needs. This data will allow us to see the students' areas of weakness and will help us to target the specific interventions needed. We'll need to meet with the teachers to go over summer school folders to make sure that they understand how to interpret the final math assessments. I made sure that a copy of the final assessment is in each student's green math folder. Perhaps this is something you can do when you are meeting with teachers?

I think that using the summer school math assessment formatively will allow us to create small groups, tutoring, and other interventions that address our students' immediate needs.
